A fantastic, 5 Star quality DVD. With a great sit-down Interview with Y2J, you're taken through the illustrious 20+ year career of Chris Irvine. Following his early years from the Hart Brothers School of Wrestling, you're taken around the Globe exclusively by Chris Jericho as he explains how different wrestling cultures made him the WWE Superstar he is today.

Fantastic choices of Matches, every great patch of Jericho's career covered: for a Y2J fan - this DVD is the perfect buy. I was extremely happy with my purchase. Highly recommend!

Great sit-down interview with Jericho , comes accross as a very likeable guy
Very good selection of matches & Interviews/Segments.
Man of 1004 holds is one of my favourite moments in Nitro history , Great debut on Raw in August '99 still holds up now as much as it did back in the day
Championship match against HHH from Raw April '00 is awesome as well as WM19 scrap vs HBK & Ladder match vs HBK from No Mercy '08

Well worth any price you pay, you won't be disappointed

I don't like to give out Five Stars often, but when there's very little to criticise about a rather brilliant DVD package, what else can you do? :) Yeah, it's not 'quite' perfect but the negatives are just niggles.

Like all of these sets, it rather depends on whether you like the wrestler involved or not. It's very rare one of these sets 'convinces' you - I've always had a soft spot for Jericho, but like what happened with the Shawn Michaels DVDs when I watched them, I've found myself reevaluating his career and coming out the other side with a heck of a lot more respect for the man. The retrospective is a good look back on the Lionheart; it doesn't go overboard by calling him The Best Ever, like some of these things can, but it keeps everything moderate enough whilst retaining enough flattery and 'isn't Jericho great' moments that these retrospectives seem indebted to do. But really, the retrospective is a good one - except a couple of 'eww, yeuck' moments where Jericho claims his ultimate destination was 'always WWE'. Yeah, okay.

Aside from that minor quibble, the documentary is great and very Y2J driven, which is always a plus with these things. I like the fact that whilst he's not 'in character' he doesn't say anything to break character either, which is always a good thing IMO. So yeah, great documentary. I did like to hear a lot about his early career - I haven't read his books yet, so this was all fascinating to me.

Match wise? You always know these disks are a good slice of any wrestler's career. Benoit couldn't be included here for obvious reasons, so some of Y2J's biggest matches simply won't be released again. On the other hand, Jericho has had enough matches put to film to eclipse even those, that you won't particularly miss the Benoit altercations.

The matches are generally fantastic - ignore the bad picture quality on the Ultimo Dragon match, because it's just a great match (shame there's not better quality footage available to do a 'Special Edition' or something). I also really enjoyed the Juventud match. Top quality (even though unmasking is usually a no-no for cruiserweights). Oddly enough, the matches I thought could have been mixed up a bit were on Disk 3. I know it's traditional for WWE to put 'modern' matches on the third disk, but usually these are readily available elsewhere. Some of the matches just aren't Five Star material - Undertaker is my favourite wrestler of all time, but his match with Jericho just wasn't all that exciting. Ah bein. I guess nothing's perfect. Saying that these matches aren't 'bad' - not a single one - so don't let that put you off.

Extras are flawless - there are promos, snippets, and commentaries (I always like commentaries on WWE disks - I still remember HHH and Foley's commentaries for Summerslam '99 fondly).

Is the DVD perfect? Almost. But there are odd creative choices - when you load up the DVD, you get the whole 'ten count' of Jericho's 'countdown'. Weird, because you could have just started it at 'five' or something instead of 'ten'. I know it's just 'ten seconds', but it's ten seconds of waiting for the DVD to load - and if I'm just wanting a quick Jericho match fix, that can get pretty tedious frankly. Then there are the 'introductions' Jericho does - the fact that he's picked the matches and why etc. They're kind of pointless. Jericho seems uncomfortable doing them, and they're just taking up space on the disk. Why not give us a classic Jericho promo instead? I know we've got plenty already, but more is more. Avoid this in future, WWE - we don't need this.

Ultimately, I have to summarise: any DVD that includes Jericho's famous 'Man of 1,004 holds promo' on it is perfect. End of. "Arrmbarr..." The fact that everything on this disk is standard simply feeds this. Go, Jericho, go!

Being a Chris Jericho fan from his ECW days, its great to see all his best bits in one place and getting the credit he deserves. Because WWE has such a huge library of footage, these kind of documentaries work well because you can see the footage of his evolution throughout the years. I would certainly recommend any Jericho fan to watch this. If you only know the Chris Jericho from the last couple of years while he wore a suit then this is a perfect way to see what he was before that, how he matured over the years and wanted to be the best he could

Was and wasn't a fan of Chris Jericho (bought the DVD as people were saying it was a must watch) but after watching the DVD he's got to be one of my favourite Wrestles now. Disc 1 the documentary all about Jericho which is all told buy the man himself was just so good you find stuff out you wouldn't know about Jericho like the Big Show lives across from him. the other 2 disc's are so good with some fantastic matches.

I'd give the DVD 10/10 and would recommend that everyone to watch it.

Even if your not a fan of Jericho I'd still recommend people to watch it

i bought this not being a big chris jericho fan just loving wwe but after watching it he is now one of my fave's.
the first disc contains a 90 minute documentry on jericho's life and rise to stardom told by the man himself.
the 2nd and 3rd discs feature all of his best matches including his wrestlemania classic with shawn michaels.
find out why he was angry at being given the main event at wrestlemania 18.
why he and goldberg dont get on.
plus much much more.

This DVD deserves no less than 5 stars in reality but im extremely fussy and only the best of the best DVD's earn that 5 star acheivement.

The documentary alone is brilliant and i can pick no faults with that no much how fussy i am but my problem lies on disk 1. Theres a few promos and a music video but i cant help thinking they could have included a few more matches if they missed that out including maybe made room somewhere for his match against randy orton at armageddon 2007 or the unsanctioned match with shawn michaels from unforgiven 2008.

Apart from that small problem all the matches involved are highly entertaining and the alternative commantary from Jericho and Matt Striker during the mania bout between Michaels and Jericho adds a new aspect to an already amazing match.

So all i can say really is buy this..Jericho fan or not!

Got this for Christmas from my Boyfriend and we watched together. We're both massive fans of WWE and Jericho is the reason I got into wrestling.
The biography disc is the best interview I've seen, mostly due to how truthful Chris is.

As a self-confessed Jerichoholic, I was anticipating this DVD with pure excitement. Turns out my purchase was worth while, as every match on the DVD is strong and entertaining, even with the slow matches that started Y2J's career in Smokey Mountain Wrestling leading up to his incredible WWE debut with some classic WCW matches along the way.

Chris gives an interesting interview into his life's journey, from making it as a rock star with band Fozzy to even becoming a number 1 New York bestseller! The DVD also includes the transition Jericho had to make in character when he returned to the WWE in 2007 after a two year break from the company.

This three disc boxset is a true essential for big Jericho fans such as myself. As the DVD will show you, he is one of the best in the world at what he does. I would highly recommend this boxset if you're remotely into Jericho's wrestling, and would like to find out more about his background. 5 stars! :)

This DVD is one of the most anticipated WWE releases in recent history and when i finally got my hands on it, i was bursting with excitement. But, this DVD isn't the best one i have ever watched, it is definatley one of the best, but not THE best, but then again, maybe my expectations were too high.

The First disc is an Hour-and-abit documentary, that is pretty interesting, starting at Jerichos birth all the way to when NXT Season 1 started, which is nice. BUT, if you, like me, have Jerichos first Biography (Around the World in Spandex) the first 50 minutes or so doesn't contain anything new, he talks about everything in the book in less detail, it is nice to see some of the things that he was talking about in the book come to life as it were, but for those readers it contains no new information. Also on this Disc is a shed load of extras, and these extras make the first Disc several times better, the extra labelled "Jerichos Junction" is a highlight, same with the altercation that Jericho has with a fan at a Smackdown event.

The Second and Third discs contain loads of matches, alot of the matches included are very entertaining, such as the Wrestlemania 19 match with Shawn Micheals, the WCW matches are great, and they make you want to watch more of Jerichos WCW stuff, and the earlier matches, such as the Thrillseeker match and the match from Japan and great inclusions, and make the second disc of the box set the best. Most matches on the Disc are there for more reasons than just being a great match, like many of the title matches, and the WCW matches against Malenko and Juvetud. Altough i would've liked to have seen some matches from inbetween 2003 and 2005, as that period is completely left out.

Also another thing, this DVD contains the bars on the side of the non-HD footage, which can get annoying sometimes, bot so much on the matches, but on the Documentary it can be quite annoying. But once you get used to the bars it isn't that bad.

So, is this DVD worth buying? Yes it is, this is one of those Essential Superstar releases, if you are a Huge fan of Jericho it may seem like a bit of a dissapointment, but still please you. So i would suggest this boxset, the documentary is entertaining and the matches are go from good to superb. Great boxset, go buy it!

Truth be told, this set is rather disappointing. True, if you take this set on its own merits without considering any other WWE DVD releases, it's superb and worth 5 stars. However, as a collector, you'll find yourself groaning at yet more repeated matches already available on other sets ...

The early matches and WCW contests are great and -nearly- all worthy of inclusion. Once we move into WWE territory, things get a little different. Y2J's encounter with Kurt Angle at No Way Out 2000 is superb, but is already available on the Intercontinental Title DVD. Things then improve with the amazing WWE title match vs. Triple H on Raw. Then, we have ANOTHER match that is already available on the History of the World Title DVD; Jericho vs. Rock. A superb match, but I ALREADY HAVE IT. Next ... another repeat - Jericho vs. Austin is already on the WWE Title History DVD (and is not that great of a match anyway).

The last disc is better, with good matches involving Hogan (Smackdown), John Cena (Raw), Michaels (in the amazing No Mercy 2008 Ladder Match), Rey Mysterio (Extreme Rules 2009), Undertaker (Smackdown) and ... well, I was going to include the Y2J vs. Edge match from Wrestlemania 26, but it's rather poor, so I won't!

Again, the other matches on disc 3, while good/amazing, are ALREADY ON OTHER SETS: Jericho's Wrestlemania 19 match with HBK (already on HBK's DVD and Greatest Superstars of Wrestlemania DVD) and his IC Title match vs. Jeff Hardy from Raw (already on the IC Title set).

So, as a standalone release, it's amazing. If you already own the other DVD sets, it's a MASSIVE disappointment with too many repeated bouts.

however it still is a great DVD

First off I want to say that this would definitley be a five star review if it wasnt for the blue sidebars on every bit of footage before WWE went HD, which in all fairness is about 99% of the dvd! If you want to watch Jerichos first match you have to watch it with the sidebars, if you want to watch Jerichos WWE debut you have to watch it with the sidebars. Why WWE have done this I have no idea but not only do we have to put up with the blurring of the WWF attitude logo we have to put up with these sidebars, its just the way it is!
Other than that I cant fault this DVD, if you've read Jerichos first book then you'll already know most of the information in the documentary but its still nice to hear it from the man himself. The match selection is fantastic and like I said this would most definitley be a five star review if it wasnt for the sidebars.

I can't wait for this but for me there are classic matches missing. For example:-
Jericho v The Rock (Vengeance)
Jericho v Triple H (Last man standing at Fully Loaded)
Jericho v Randy Orton (Armageddon)
Jericho v Triple H (Hell in a Cell, Judgment Day, I think)
Jericho v Ric Flair (Summerslam)
Jericho v Chyna (Armageddon)
Jericho v X Pac (Steel Cage from Raw)
Jericho v Triple H (Wrestlemania X8)
Does anyone have anymore that I am blatently missing?
To be fair, they are all amazing and I cant wait!!!!

have to say this dvd looks awesome, the sheer volume of material it covers is staggering & no stone is left un-turned. from his days as a colourless rookie in japan, smw & ecw to his antagonistic brash heel character in wcw (the man of 1004 holds had me in stiches at the time) to the now iconic Y2J, jericho has been one of the premier performers in pro wrestling for nearly 2 decades now & has more wrestling experience in terms of promotions & countries he's worked in, than anyone curently on the roster (yes not even undertaker or the game are as well travelled as jericho)
he definatley deserves the 3 disc treatment & silvervision can count on my purchase.
