I think this has to be one of the beat WWE DVDs of all time. It has all the best ladder meratches up to the end of 2006 such as the 1st tlc match and Shawn Michaels vs Razor Ramon and loads more!
My favourite match has to be Wrestlemania 17 tlc match or John Cena vs Edge tlc match
the only downfall is that a few of the matches you would think would be on there aren't but on a differnt DVD coming out in November!
Overall 9/10

WWE: The Ladder Match
Im not going to do one of those long boring reviews , Im just going to tell you straight up , you "need" this DVD. Ive been a fan of wrestling a little over 3 years and Ive seen many WWE DVDs & box sets and I have to say , this is truly the best 3 disc set WWE has out. You get almost 30 matches including some off the most memorable moments in WWE & the rise of many WWE superstars to super stardom.

Its basically a chronical of all the ladder matches in WWE from the 1970,s up until 2006. It has a great mixture of both ladder matches & TLC matches and is a must buy for all WWE fans out there.

In short , buy this DVD , trust me you will not be dissapointed. I can honestly say Its the best WWE DVD I have in my collection

This is a great DVD, and while Todd Grisham's presenting skills may leave something to be desired, the format works wonderfully. The matches are done so chronologically, so as to show the evolution of the match rather than which ones made peoples number one. I think this works in favour of the set. You can see the origins of the match in Stampede, the storming (lesser known) bout between Bret and Shawn and then how it developed into the tag team arena and beyond.
The other nice little feature is that although some obvious choices have been included in here (TLC I, No Mercy 1999 etc.), there are some nice gems throughout. Many people remember the WrestleMania X Shawn Michaels v Razor Ramon match but overlook the superb rematch at SummerSlam 1995, as well as the great TLC match from SmackDown! in 01 and Undertaker's foray into the match against ladder veteran Jeff Hardy in 02.
It's well worth a watch and for me, is one of WWE's best feature DVD sets.

Well, whether you love or hate this DVD surely relies on whether you like Ladder Matches or not, doesn't it? If you do, then read on. If you hate Ladder matches, then why are you reading this review? :)

To get things out of the way - there are no extras at all, but for once the disk doesn't suffer for it. This is literally 'the best ladder matches of all time' and you can't fault them with that. The matches are the extras, as it were. There are little 'promo-ettes' from time to time, and Todd Grisham interviews participants in the matches, i.e. Edge and Jeff Hardy, whilst guys like Gregory Helms just explain their own participation ad hoc. The presentation is excellent and the disk is very good in that regard.

Match selection? Decent. Most people will complain at Wrestlemania 2000 being missing, and I can understand why it isn't included - plus they do highlight it. HBK vs. Razor at WM 10 is also missing, but most people I think own that matche on umpteen other HBK or 'Best of Wrestlemania' DVDs. I didn't miss it here. I think the matches they chose are rarer than ones they didn't, and I think they made the right choices. Let's look at disk by disk.

Disk 1:
In many respects, the best disk from the get-go. The pound for pound best Tag Ladder match at No Mercy between the Hardys and Edge & Christian is presented here. Their TLC compromises begin here, way before they became tired or overdone. There are also some very underrated, very good one-on-one matchups - Jericho vs. Benoit is a classic, and HHH vs. Rock is one of the best matches of the whole disc - it really is a forgotten gem. The HBK vs. Razor rematch is rarely mentioned because it can't hold up to WM 10, but when you see it here in it's own context, you realise that it's still decent, albeit a botch that happens in the match when HBK cannot get the belts. The Jake Roberts / JYD match is interesting as it's different psychology to the others, and I was appreciative of it's inclusion here, but only because I'm a wrestling addict and not because it's very good per se (although, in some ways it is). The standout match here, however, is the WCW match. It's very good - Shannon Moore looks quite stiff, but steals the show in an HBK-like fashion - and as the only WCW match on the disc, it's quite a rarity in of itself that you cannot buy elsewhere on DVD. So yes, this disk is a very big thumbs up.

Disk 2:
Disk 2 is less stellar than Disk 1. The opening Tag Team Matches are pretty neat and, of course, this disk contains matches (like TLC 3) that aren't available anywhere else, which is well worth the price of admission. The 'Taker / Hardy match is a little overrated but it's still very good. The TLC Raw chaos brawl is fantastic and I can see why it was voted best Raw match for many years. The problem is, there are two 'average' ladder matches here - Edge vs. Christian, and Christian vs. Jericho, which is a shame as all three are usually above average. I think the problem of overexposure of the Ladder Match during the Noughty's is very obvious here. Still, on their own individual PPVs they were good match breakers - here, they're filler.

Disk 3:
The DVD package continues it's run of high quality, again with some matches that aren't available anywhere else (which is the best thing for these collections, quite often). This disk is notable for the Money in the Bank Ladder matches which are showcased here. I've got mixed feelings about Money in the Bank - it has rather over-exposed the Ladder concept and, yet, it's always one of the things I look forward to each Wrestlemania. The rather amazing Edge vs. Cena Unforgiven match is pleasingly included here, as is the absolutely phenominal - if painful to watch - Armageddon Fatal Four-Way Tag, but by this point in watching, we all know the 'spots' and are familiar with the concept. The problem comes with trying 'new' stuff and by the end of the disc, it's clear that 'new' is running out.

But overall, guys, there really is no reason not to buy this, if you like WWE. :)

It's a very good DVD, the only thing I hate was, that I miss on this Set a few Matches, like the Ladder Match from Wrestlemania 10 or the Triangl Ladder Match. They should be on the DVD instead of the 1st two Matches & TLC 4.

Thus 3 disc set is a great compilation of some of the most memorable Ladder matcehs in WWE. Hosted by Todd Grisham he is visited by a selction of superstars throughout the set who comment on their experiances in Ladder Matches! The two TLC Matches from Raw and Smackdown are on here which is fantastic as they are not on any other set in full. Both matches are amazing. Some of the greatest moments from WWE are in Ladder Matches and they are all here on this set. Great price in the sale. Well worth the money. But the regular price of ?21.99 is still a steal for this superb compilation!

Wow, What can i say, absolutely breath taking. This DVD features some of the most brutal and entertaining matches to ever be seen in any wrestling promotion period.Cram packed full of high flying, high falling, high octane matches that will blow you away. Witness The matches that made the Hardy's a household name and find out why Edge is the master of the ladder match. You've got to give it to these guys, they realy do put everything on the line when they step in to the squared circle.

With a huge videotape library at its disposal, it's a pity that WWE doesn't do things like this more often - release DVDs that are stuffed with great matches. From 'standard' Ladder matches to TLC matches, this has them all (pretty much) and if you enjoy seeing people trying to reach an object hanging from the roof before their opponent can get it, then this DVD is certainly for you. Every match is well worth seeing (Jake Roberts vs Big Daddy Ritter mainly for curiosity value) and if there is a criticism to be levelled at this compilation, it's that lots of the matches involve the same people. That apart, this is a worthy addition to anyone's collection.

An absolute must for any fan of the ladder match and any real wrestling fan! If a fellow wrestling fan asks you to list your greatest ladder matches, just show them the back of this dvd cover. All the classics are on here and another great thing is that all the TLC matches are included and not just ladder matches. In my opinion, the rated R superstar, Edge steals the show in this set, with many memorable moments produced by him. Not far behind him, are Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho, Captain Charisma Christian and Matt Hardy. Also included is a WCW contest for the cruiserweight championship, which is a great, fast paced contest. Nearly every match will make your jaw drop and it truly is a grat set. So far, this is the best compilation box set made by WWE, but i can see the hell in a cell dvd giving this a run for its money. Buy this now! its a 100% must!

This is an absolutely fantastic DVD collection with some breath taking matches. It great to se some of the ladder matches from Raw and Smackdown, such as the TLC 3 match, instead of just matches from pay per views. The stand out performances are from Shawn Michaels, Jeff hardy and Edge. I would have liked to see a few more of the WCW ladder matches such as Eddie Guerrero vs Syxx or Goldberg vs Scott Hall but otherwisethis is a comprehensive collection of some of the most thrilling matches in WWE history.

The best WWE compilation DVD to be released in my opinion. Every ladder match that has made your jaw drop in the past is in ths set. Absolutely amazing. The DVD kicks off with, what could be described as an unknown match. That is, Jake Roberts vs Big Daddy Ritter, known more as Junkyard Dog. The ladder is different to what it's like today, as it's just a one sided ladder propped up against a bar next to the title. This match is far from a classic, nor is it an amazing match, but it is nice to see an oldie. The first disc continues to put up a good show, with the Summerslam 2000 TLC match and the No Mercy 1999 tag ladder match being two amazing matches.
Disc two also puts up an amazing lineup. 2001 - 2004. It kicks off with the TLC match from Wrestlemania 17, which, really, is very similar the the Summerslam 2000 match. Not a bad thing..
The third disc, 2005 - 2006, is also amazing, proving that all the excitement didn't come from the "attitude era" alone. An amazing MITB match with a great performance from Shelton especially in that math. The DVD finishes on a very strong note. The fatal Four way Tag Team ladder match from Armageddon 2006, this match will have falls, bruises and a good ol' broken nose.

A highly recommended DVD. With 21 matches and over 9 Hours long. You can't go wrong.

A fantastic compilation from start to finish. The DVD contains many, many highlights. To name a few..The Tag Team Ladder match from No Mercy is the first in what became a series of jaw dropping matches fought for over the Tag Team titles. It was also the match that really propelled The Hardyz and Edge and Christian into stardom. That fantastic match is topped with the first TLC match at Summerslam in 2000 that also involved The Dudley Boyz. This match almost defies words such is its excellence.A fine match between Chris Jericho and Chris'He never wrestled here we swear'Benoit from the Royal Rumble is in here. The outstanding TLC match between Edge and John Cena in front of Edge's hometown crowd of Toronto is in here asc are some other great matches pitting Jeff Hardy Vs Johnny Nitro,The epic Rock Vs Triple H match from SS98 and RVD Vs Eddie Guerrero.
Theres no appearance of Shawn Vs Razor from WMX,instead you get the better rematch from SummerSlam 1995.Also Bret Hart Vs HBK in what was the WWE's first ever Ladder match is included.Having been previously available only on Stack 'Em Whack 'Em VHS it's nice to see it get an airing on this.Another nice inclusion is the ^ man match from WCW,which after a bumpy start fast turns into a highly enjoyable spot fest.
A gripping DVD,this is one of the best WWE DVD releases yet

Every match in the dvd is classic's in there own way, the only match i didnt like was the first one but im still glad they put it in because it shows you how much the other ladder matches evolve, it shows you that without wrestlers like Jake Roberts and Big Daddy Ritter there might not have been ladder matches today, so its good to have it on the dvd. All the best ladder matches are on it and im glad they never put the Wrestlemania 10 ladder match on it because its on so many other dvds. Very good dvd from start to finish
