WWE Wrestlemania 23 comes from the Ford Centre, and with WWE already losing Rey Mysterio and Triple H to injuries who were in the title matches at the previous years event, the 2 title matches were still blockbuster matches to look forward to. Also Stone Cold Steve Austin returns as the referee for a battle of billionaires, Donald Trump and the Chairman of the board Mr. McMahon, who would get their head shaved bald?
1. Money In The Bank Ladder Match: Booker T vs. CM Punk vs. Edge vs. Finlay vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy vs. Mr Kennedy vs. Randy Orton - 8/10.
A great ladder match to start the show off, some good moments coming with the ladder and from off the ladder, RKO's and Spears on all superstars, excellent opener for the evening.
2. Kane vs. The Great Khali - 4/10.
Not a great match, very slow and not a match to remember at any Wrestlemania.
3. WWE United States Championship: Chris Benoit (c) vs. M.V.P. (Montel Vontavious Porter) - 7/10.
Nice title match, both superstars used some good wrestling moves and submissions.
4. World Heavyweight Championship: Batista (c) vs. The Undertaker - 8/10.
Not sure on the position of this match, quite early for a major title, but these 2 put on a great show and Batista showed he could hang with the top dog in the WWE. Streak v title.
5. The ECW Originals (Rob Van Dam, Sabu, The Sandman & Tommy Dreamer) vs. The New Breed (Elijah Burke, Kevin Thorn, Matt Striker & Marcus Cor Von) w/ Ariel - 6/10.
A first for Wrestlemania, The ECW Originals making an appearance, an okay 8 man tag team match.
6. Hair vs. Hair Match: Special Guest Referee (Stone Cold Steve Austin) - Bobby Lashley w/ Donald Trump vs. Umaga w/ Armando Alejandro Estrada & Mr. McMahon - 7/10.
A very entertaining match-up, Austin as referee helps out the match, but Umaga and Lashley were great in the ring together, also Mr. McMahon and Trump show some entertaining moments.
7. WWE Women's Championship: Lumberjill Match - Melina (c) vs. Ashley Massaro - 5/10.
Just a way to get all the Diva's invovled at Wrestlemania, an average Women's match.
8. WWE Championship; John Cena (c) vs. Shawn Michaels - 9/10
John Cena gets criticism for not being good in the ring, but HBK made him work in this great main event, could of gone either way, HBK was excellent, Cena was pretty good on the night.
DVD Extras:
- Aftermath of Batista and Undertaker on Smackdown./McMahon on Raw
- Carlito & Ric Flair vs. Chavo Guerrero & Gregory Helms
- Steve Austin announced as referee/No Way Out rematch
- Promos and highlights
- 2007 WWE Hall of Fame ceremoney with Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, Dusty Rhodes & Mr. Perfect.
Overall DVD rating: 8/10 - A good Wrestlemania.

A great event the best matches in my opinion were the money in the bank, the hair vs hair and the wwe championship match
Brilliant Wrestlemania, every match on the card (excluding the divas match) delivered and were entertaining all the way through. This 3-disc edition comes with loads of excellent features like the all grown up promos and Undertaker & Batista vs John Cena & HBK in a No-Way-Out rematch.
Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Excellent opening match with everything you would expect from MITB - high spots, blood, broken tables and much more!

World Heavyweight Title: The Undertaker vs Batista
Prior to the match I believe a lot of people doubted that Batista would be able to have a classic match with The Undertaker but they were proved dearly wrong. This match was absolutely brilliant form start to finish.

The ECW Original vs The New Breed
A nice match here, it was pretty unique for Wrestlemania standards with Sabu, Dreamer & Sandman being there. Don't expect anything out of the ordinary, good match none the less though.

Hair vs Hair match: Bobby Lashley w/ Donald Trump vs Umaga w/ Mr. McMahon
Just in case anyone reading doesn't konw, Stone Cold Steve Austin was the referee in this match. This match definately exceeded my expectations and Lashley & Umaga put on a really entertaining bout, great to see Vince getting shaved bald too!

Wrestlemania 23 was certainly something special. It featured Donald Trump In the Corner of Bobby Lashley taking on Umaga with Mr McMahon in his corner. Hair vs Hair with none other than The Texas Rattlesnake as Guest Referee. What a hilarious outcome this match had! Also my most anticipated main event personally, for the WWE Championship. Shawn Michaels Challenged John Cena. This was a good match but the outcome, well I wasnt happy but hey. Undertaker vs Batista was the start of a fantastic feud that would stretch to the end of 2007, great match. Overall a superb Wrestlemania!

hbk vs cena
great great match
hbk was the favourite but cena prevailed in the end

could of been better but it was still entertaining
This was a thoroughly enjoyable WrestleMania, I really enjoyed it. Money in the Bank was good, as always. Undertaker vs Batista was also a good match and turned into a long enjoyable rivalry, that is something that doesn't seem to happen at the minute, unless of course you enjoy seeing Randy Orton and Triple H fight each other every single week. The Battle of the Billionaires was not a very good match, but it sure was funny to see Mr McMahon get his head shaved!! The set is also packed with extras and promos which are a good thing to have on a dvd as it shows some build up to the event. It is definitely worth buying.

I would recommend:D a great Wrestlemania:D HBK Cena and Batista Undertaker are two great matches, followed closely by the money in the bank ladder match:D included is a lot of bonus content!
I may be slightly biased towards this event as it was the first WrestleMania i had ever watched live and although it meant staying up till 4am it was most definitely worth it just from watching it on TV you could feel the amazing atmosphere that comes with the grandest stage of all.
Now onto the matches.
Money in the Bank 8 man Ladder Match
Great opener with all men going all out to give the best match possible. The best spot of the match is the now infamous Jeff Hardy leg drop to edge off 1 ladder putting edge through another. Mr Kennedy winning was also an awesome moment as he was fully deserving at the time and had been putting on good performances up till now. 4/5
Kane Vs The Great Khali
Not a very good match but for what it was it wasn't the worst match iv ever seen. Probably not Mania worthy though. 1.5/5
United States Championship MVP Vs Chris Benoit
A very good match from the 2 Smackdown men. A nice more technical encounter which is what we came to expect from Benoit over the years (the man rarely had a bad match) and this was definitely worthy of its place on the card even if it wasn't one of the best matches in Mania history and isn't by any means a classic it is still an enjoyable watch. Also memorable as it very sadly turned out to be Benoit's final Mania match although i will say its matches like this that makes me think its wrong for the WWE to completely erase Benoit from history. 3.5/5
World Heavyweight Championship Batista Vs The Undertaker
I have only one complaint over this match and that is its place on the card, only 4th which i thought was just wrong and slightly disrespectful to the World Title and to the legendary Phenom and the Animal Batista who had done a great job building up this match. Now onto the match itself it was very fast paced and had back n forth action although there were brief periods of domination where Undertaker or Batista had a distinct advantage. A real roller coaster of a match that had to double guessing the who the winner would be. Thankfully after a tombstone piledriver the winner was The Undertaker making him both 15-0 at WrestleMania and World Heavyweight Champion for the first time. 5/5
ECW Originals Vs The New Breed 8 man tag match
Nice 8 man Tag, the nostalgia of the ECW originals finally making it to WrestleMania is the only real highlight, not as good as the extreme rules rematch a few weeks later unfortunately but not too bad either. 2/5
Battle of the Billionaires Lashley vs Umaga
The spectacle of the match with it being hair vs hair, Vince vs Trump w/ Stone Cold as special ref make this match worth seeing more so than the actual wrestling involved, as a stand alone wrestling match it isn't very good but with all the spectacle and the build up 2 it and the aftermath with the head shaving make this a worthwhile addition to the card. 2.5/5
Womens Championship Lumberjill match Ashley vs Melina
Very Poor match not worthy of WrestleMania at all only the brawl at the end and the time to calm down b4 the main event make this even worth while. 1/5
WWE Championship John Cena vs Shawn Michaels
A WrestleMania worthy main event if ever i saw one, a nice slow beginning of the match with a nice slow buildup resulting in one hell of a match. Near 30 minutes of great action from 2 of Raw's finest at the time. Great Main event with both giving their all to try and steal the biggest show of the year. Counters, big moves and near falls galore make this match a must see, completely different style to the other world title match earlier in the night but id say just as good. 5/5
A very good PPV and a very good Wrestlemania where the 2 main world title matches steal the show. The extras on the dvd are very good as there are a large number of them and of course as we have become accustomed to the entire Hall of Fame ceremony is included. A must buy in my opinion.
Overall DVD rating 5/5
Not the best wrestlemania i have seen, the production of this event seems a little sloppy, and what's up with putting the undertaker vs batista heavyweight title match in the middle of the show thats just messed up it's best match of the night and i would still only give it a 4/5. and for the entire event i give it 3/5.

The Best Wrestlemainia Yet!!!
83,103 WWE fans in in the Ford Field arena to witness the best WWE event ever.
The money in the bank ladder match was fantastic brilliant i could watch it over and over.
The WWE Championship was a classic , Hbk and Cena put their carrer on the line that night.
Undertaker Vs Batista was also a very good match in my view the greatest match of the night.
Womens Championship was very good Ashley V Melina not only that it was a lumberjill match!
Battle of the Billionairs was excellent if you have stone cold and Mr Macmahon in spitting distance of each other youre just asking for trouble! If i were you i would 100% buy this DVD! x
A Great Wrestlemania !
The John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels match was amazing and Cena's entrance in a beautiful Ford Mustang was a wrestlemania moment for me !
The Battle of the Billionaires Hair vs. Hair match was ok but it was promoted so much that over shadowed the championship matches. But when ever you have Umaga in the ring it's great match for sure.
The firsh time in a WM that ECW appears. The Originals vs. The New Breed. Nothing special but a good one.
The World Heavyweight Championship match: a historic 15-0 !! And a belt for Undertaker!! Soooo Sweeeeet !! :>
Chris Benoit vs. MVP: first WM for MVP and he did realy good against Chris Benoit. Very good for both of them.
Kane vs. The Great Khali : Did it feel like Wrestlemania 3 ? I loved Kane in this one.
Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Hell broke loose !
As always lots of extras with a beautiful 2007 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and a chance to hear great stories from the legends. I realy love the Hall of Fame as part of the WM box set.
This was my first WrestleMania i attended,so this dvd brings it all back for me.The MITB and HBK vs Cena matches are both quality, but the match that stole the show (to my suprise) was The Undertaker vs Batista,i was one of very few that night cheering on the Animal, the atmosphere was nuts during that match, something i will never forget.
AN OVERALL EPIC AND RECORD BREAKING WRESTLEMANIA!
The 23rd edition of the biggest show in wrestling resides from detroit in front of a record 80,103, breaking grossing and ppv records in the process. It consisted of 3 main events, 2 world championship matches and the "battle of the billionaires".
WWE Championship Match
John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels- If the world championship war was a sprint, this was a marathon. The match was faught in a strategic and methodical pace, but i prefer it this way. 2 of the biggest superstars in the current wwe progam pulled in my opinion the match of the night and one HELL of a main event. The pre match package was the best ive seen, the entrances(especially cenas) was fantastic and the fans were fairly into it(not as much as the other chamiponship match). It had that natural epic feel. The match starts off slowly with HBK dominating, but after the superb moonsault on the outside to cena onto the table, to me it is when the match picks up big time. It also contained a very rare and dangerous move in which michaels pildrived cena onto the steps. Great stuff. What really changes this match from a great match to arguably an epic in my opinion were two things. One was the last 5-10mins. The action from here was some of the best ive seen in wrestling history, back and forth and unpredictable sequences. Second was JRs commentary. This guy has a nack for turning it up for the biggest matches and he does it again here, making this match feel special and huge. Cena wins with a suprising stfu tap out, leaving one of the biggest wrestlemanias of all time as WWE champion. This is a true wrestling match that long time fans will truly appreciate. Fabulous WM main event- 9/10
Lumberjill Match for the WWE Women's Championship
Melina vs. Ashley Massaro- One of the worse matches ive seen from any wm, but they always have to have atleast one crap match, and this was it. Boring, uneventful and the ending was strange indeed. Blah-3/10
Battle of the Billionaires Hair vs. Hair Match
Bobby Lashley (w/ Donald Trump) vs. Umaga (w/ Mr. McMahon)
Steve Austin as Special Guest Referee- I think the overbooking made this match. This is the match the whole event was selling on. That marquee match up. Hair vs Hair with stone cold as the ref. The action was alright but it wasnt meant to be a benoit vs angle epic, it was meant to be entertaining for hardcore and casual fans alike, and i believe it delivered. Ending was interesting as many non competing particapants got involved, even donald trump! Lashley picks up the victory thanks to a stone cold stunner and what proceeds is one of those Mania moments: the owner of the company getting his head shaved bald. Hilarious. But what was even more funny was what occured after in which austin stunnered trump! never trust the rattlesnake. Good match but Great booking. Im gonna be genorous here-8/10
The ECW Originals (Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, The Sandman & Rob Van Dam) vs. The New Breed (Elijah Burke, Marcus Cor Von, Matt Striker & Kevin Thorn)- The much anticapted debuts of past ecw stars come off rather undewhelming. The action wasnt bad, infact it was a fun 8 man tag, but when you have so many extreme superstas, u NEED weapons, thats what let this match down. The finishers galore at the end was a neat touch, and the ECW veterans won their first(and for some their only) WM match-6.5/10
World Heavyweight Championship Match
Batista vs. Undertaker-WOW! Thats was my reaction at the end of the 1st time seeing this epic war. Superb stuff. What i like about this match was the fantastic build and hype, the entrances, the feel, the fans were into this BIGTIME, booing Batista in the process. The start of the match was fantastic stuff. Batista instantly hit the Undertaker with a spear and from their it was straight balls to the walls action, never letting up. It was like a sprint. The match period was perfect, the spots were layed out perfectly, the animosity could be felt, it was back and forth, i just have too much praise for this match. These two promised before hand in many local interviews to steal the show, and for many they did. Infact, at 1st viewing i was going to give this match a 9.5! But 2nd viewing made me believe this match just barely missed such a high rating. Unpredictable stuff, for a second it truly looked that Batista, more than anyone else would end the streak. The ending sequence like the other main event was top notch, with Undertaker picking up the win with a tombstone and with that winning his second world title at a WM, the previous being exactly 10 years ago at WM13. EPIC EPIC EPIC match, unforgettable-9/10
United States Championship Match
Chris Benoit vs. MVP-This match was the sleeper of the night. It was suprisingly fantastic UNTIL the anti-climatic ending with benoit winning with the headbutt. Just when it looks like the two were going to pick it up a gear it ends suddenly, and that hurt the match and the rating greatly. Still, chris made MVP a star here, pulling him through his 1st truly great match. Great technical and ground based match up, with the right man winning-8/10
Kane vs. The Great Khali- I dont think many will agree with me, but this match isnt as bad as people say, however thats not saying much as it isnt too good either. Average at best between two of the hugest superstar in the WWE, with a throwback moment to WM3 with kane bodyslamming Khali ala Hogan slamming andre in this same state. Strange ending but ok, if not boring action-5.5/10
Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Mr. Kennedy vs. Finlay vs. Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy vs. King Booker vs. CM Punk vs. Edge vs. Randy Orton-The most star studded MITB ended up being a disapointment. Thats not to say it wasnt good, infact it was a fantastic opener, one of the best in Mania history, however there wasnt enough from the main superstars. Edge was elminated by Jeff after an INSANE spot, and afterwards we dont see much from jeff, CM punk does very little and there are too many repeated sequences of guys hitting their finishers on 3-4 guys in a row. It just lost steam with such action. However their were some unbelievable moments such as an rko from the top and many others. Great match, right winner, disapointing on a whole-8.5/10
Great WM, and as for the DVD the extras are arguably the best in any WM dvd released. 2 epic main events, a strong if not underwhelming undercard and many WM moments that wont be forgotten too soon, This is one event that just felt BIG. BUY ASAP!

probably the best wrestlemania for a while it has the 2 best main event matches in mania history in my opion ,hbk vs cena and undertaker vs batista and the last wrestlemania for the late great chris benoit vs mvp in a very good classic wrestling match ,if i was to sit down and watch a wwe ppv today it would be this one and i would suggest that anybody who doesnt own this dvd should do ,also you cant miss vince mcmahon having his hair cut off (even though the match is nothing special ).also you cant miss the brutal money in the bank ladder match ,with a awesome bump by jeff hardy (has to be seen to be believed)so in closeing you should buy this dvd its a must have wrestlemania along side wrestlemania 10,8,20,21,and 12
*WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS*
It's that time again; WrestleMania time! The biggest event of the year that usually features the biggest matches of the year. Usually I look forward to about 4 or 5 matches on a WrestleMania card, but this was different. I was only looking forward to 2 matches. The Undertaker Vs Batista, and the MITB ladder match. That was it. I couldn't care less for the "Battle of the people with way more money than I will ever have in my entire life who don't actually battle, they get other people to do it for them" match, and I really couldn't care for the WWE Title match. For me to like this event, the matches would have to deliver big time.
Jeff Hardy Vs King Booker Vs Finlay Vs CM Punk Vs Mr Kennedy Vs Matt Hardy Vs Randy Orton Vs Edge - Money in the Bank Ladder Match
This would be the third annual MITB ladder match, and would feature more people than the other 2. Talk about a way to get as many wrestlers involved as possible at WrestleMania...
The match starts off as a big brawl, and we see Finlay fly off the top rope and land on everyone on the outside! Pretty impressive for a guy his age, but he did have 7 people to catch him. Funny spot with Booker going under the ring for a ladder, and pulls out a step ladder, obviously for Hornswaggle. Edge meanwhile sets up a ladder that is held up with the ring and the guard rail, which we will see used later. King Booker is in the ring beating everyone up until The Hardy Boys stop him with a ladder. The Hardy's then set up 2 ladders to try and do the same to Edge that they did to Joey Mercury. Edge manages to escape and suplexes Matt onto the ladder.
Mr Kennedy now goes after Matt, and sets him up on a ladder, goes for a Kenton Bomb, and misses, hitting only the ladder. More double teaming from The Hardy Boys, who then start fighting each other on top of the ladder, only to be sent flying by Finlay, who now has his turn to dominate everyone. Next up to dominate everyone is Edge, who spears everyone except CM Punk, who starts to dominate everyone himself, until he is stopped by Edge and a spear. Do they really have to have a spot in every multi-man ladder match where each man gets a turn at dominating everyone else? It does get a little predictable...
Edge now sets up the 20ft ladder (the really big one), but is knocked off to the outside by his former Rated RKO partner, Randy Orton. The next thing we know, Edge is laid across the ladder he set up earlier, and Jeff is climbing the 20ft ladder. Jeff comes flying off the ladder onto Edge, and they break the ladder in half. WrestleMania moment - check!
Orton is back in the ring now, and guess what? It's his turn to dominate everyone. At least his RKO looks cool when he does it, so I didn't mind him hitting it about 4 times in a row. Not only do we see him hit it a few times in a row, but we get to see it hit from the top of a ladder to CM Punk. Orton then tries to do the same to King Booker, but instead receives a Book-End from the ladder. King Booker is about to win the match, but Matt threatens to hit his wife with a Twist of Fate, and in a very uncharacteristic way for a heel, Booker climbs down to save Sharmell.
After some more brawling, Finlay is left in the ring, but is too injured to climb the ladder. Hornswaggle appears from under the ring to climb the ladder for Finlay, but is cut off by Kennedy, who hits the Green Bay Plunge (is that what it's called?). Another WrestleMania moment!
Punk and Kennedy begin fighting on the ladder, and in the end, Kennedy is able to win the match and the title shot.
Before watching this match again for this review, I would have rated the MITB matches like this:
WM21 > WM22 > WM23
Now, I think I rate it like this:
WM21 > WM23 > WM22
This match had a lot of time, like the first one, and had a number of really goos spots and plenty of action. While I don't think it's as good as the first, it is way better than the second. Great way to start off a WrestleMania.

Chris Benoit Vs MVP - United States Title
I wasn't looking forward to this match all that much, as I wasn't quite sure how MVP would do in a technical wrestling type match, that we all knew Benoit would try and make the match. To my surprise, MVP was matching Benoit hold for hold throughout the match!
The match began technical, with MVP reversing a lot of moves from Benoit. Just when I thought the match was going to turn into a brawl, more wrestling! Triple German Suplexes from Benoit, but before he could follow up with the headbutt, MVP hits a superplex, and Benoit is able to roll MVP up on the landing for a near fall. MVP goes to work on the arm of Benoit, and gets a couple of near falls in the process.
Benoit looks to gain an advantage at one point, when he holds onto the ropes and stops himself from getting kicked. As he charges towards MVP, he gets a huge boot to the face, which is rare from a guy as small as MVP. Benoit then manages to go for a crossface attempt, but MVP stops it. More German Suplexes from Benoit as he tries to gain the advantage, but MVP again reverses Benoit, only to be revered by Benoit into another set of German Suplexes.
Headbutt from the top rope ends the match, and Benoit retains the title.
This was a good match with some great wrestling from both men, but it was WAY to short. They could have given them more time by not having the DUD match between Kane and Khali... Because of the time constraints, I am unable to rate this match too high, which is a shame as is could have been a good contender for MOTN.

The Undertaker Vs Batista - World Heavyweight Title
Before I talk about the actual match, let me first say this. Vince McMahon, you might has well have spat in the face of The Undertaker. The Undertaker is one of the biggest legends in this business, and for the first time in his 17 year WWE career, he wins the Royal Rumble match for a MAIN EVENT title match at WrestleMania, and you put him on 4th. 4th!?! Even if you were set on having HBK/Cena as the very last match, this match SHOULD have been at least second to last on the card.
Now I have that out of the way... This was the second of only 2 matches I wanted to see at this event. Not because I was expecting a superb match, as I wasn't, but I, like everyone else, knew that The Undertaker would leave WrestleMania 23 with the World Heavyweight Title.
The match is very fast paces, which surprised me and I'm sure it surprised a lot of people. Great brawling from both men, and Batista pulled out all the stops by flying off the top rope with a shoulder block, something not normally seen from Batista up to that point. Back and forth action, until The Undertaker begins to dominate. Just as the match looks to slow down, The Undertaker does his top rope dive, and the crowd go nuts!
Batista gains the advantage as they brawl on the outside. Batista then hits a powerslam from one announcers table through the other. Batista rolls The Undertaker back in the ring, but only gets a 2 count. He then goes for a Batista Bomb, but The Undertaker still has a lot left in the tank, and takes the fight back to Batista. A belly to Belly suplex from Batista gets the match going his way once again.
Batista has The Undertaker in the ropes and goes for the punches to the head. We all know whats coming next... a Last Ride. Batista is able to kick out though, and comes back with a huge Spinebuster, only to have The Undertaker sit up! Chokeslam by The Undertaker, and everyone thinks it's over this time. 1..2.. kick out! Great stuff! The crowd is hot, I am on the edge of my seat.
Batista once again gets the advantage with a spear, and follows it up with a Batista Bomb. I honestly thought that The Undertaker was going to be beat, but thankfully he kicked out. Batista goes for a second Batista Bomb, but The Undertaker reverses it. Tombstone attempt by The Undertaker pays off, and we have a NEW World Heavyweight Champion!!!
What a match! Vince may have spat on The Undertaker, and Batista, by putting them on 4th, but by god they spat right back in his face by putting on the MOTN that not even HBK could follow! One of The Undertaker's best WrestleMania matches, and one of Batista's best matches period. This was also my MOTY for 2007!

ECW Originals Vs The New Breed
Most people forget about this match because of the hardcore rules re-match they have on ECW, which I feel should have happened here and not on TV. Oh well, we can't always have what we want.
Even without the hardcore rules match they have after WrestleMania, this match is pretty forgettable. A couple of decent spots, but nothing worth mentioning.

Bobby Lashley w/Donald Trump Vs Umaga w/Vince McMahon - Special Guest Referee Stone Cold Steve Austin - Battle of the Billionaires: Hair Vs Hair Match
Poor Umaga. He is one of the best big men in WWE, and plays the monster gimmick better than most have ever done, yet he is subjected to a match with Bobby Lashey. I don't hate Bobby Lashley, I just don't think he was all that in the ring. He was supposed to be a good amature wrestler, but I never saw anything of the sort from him. Pretty much the only thing I liked about him when he was wrestling, was his overhead belly to belly suplex, which has to be my fav non finisher move.
This match was built up more than the WWE Title match IMO, and all that build up did nothing to get me interested. We all knew that there was no way in hell Trump would have his head shaved, so that whole Hair Vs Hair stipulation was wasted IMO. Oh, and everyone here should know that Austin didn't exactly do anything to help me want to see the match either .
This match is mostly a brawl, which was expected. Back and forth action, with neither man being able to keep an advantage early on. Both men take a pretty sick looking bump by being thrown to the outside (the way they land is sick). Umaga eventually gains the advantage. Umaga dominates most of the match, with the odd comeback from Lashley. In the end, despite interference from Shane McMahon, Lashley is able to pick up the win, and Vince is shaved. I don't really care.
The match wasn't really bad, but it wasn't really good either. Umaga made it watchable.

Shawn Michaels Vs John Cena - WWE Title
It's main event time. This match was supposed to be a re-match from last year's 'Mania between Cena and Triple H. I guess that was the only good thing to come from Triple H tearing his quad; we didn't have to sit through the exact same match 2 years in a row.
The thing that surprised me the most about this match is that Shawn Michaels enters the ring to the DX music, something that he has only done once before. I understand that DX had returned for the most of the previous year, but since Triple H tore his quad, DX was done, so HBK coming out to DX's music seemed a bit weird to me.
I had been surprised the year before in the Triple H/Cena match, and gave it ****. Seeing as how Shawn can put on a better performance that HHH, and seeing as how it was WrestleMania, I was expecting more from this match.
HBK puts on a good show, as usual, and even Cena puts on a good performance. Some wrestling made it into the match, as well as a lot of brawling. Although it was a relatively solid match, there is nothing really note worthy, other than the piledriver on the steel steps from HBK to Cena, which I always enjoy seeing. I didn't enjoy this match as much as the previous year's main event though, so I don't think I will be rating it as high.
Rating: ***3/4
Overall Show Rating: 7/10
While it certainly isn't the best WrestleMania of all time, it does feature a great 8 man ladder match, an amazing WHC match, a decent US title match and a decent WWE Title match. It could have been better, but it's still worth the watch.
