Although this dvd is short and the matches aren,t full i still enjoy relieving shawn micheals first title endevor and i found this dvd entertaining
Ask me a few years ago, and this DVD would have gotten a better rating. As it is, it's just passable. To begin with, even though the matches are mainly intact, they are definitely not whole. They are 'highlights', and where HBK is concerned, highlights are plenty. But alone, they're not satisfying.
You can't fault the matches - The Iron Man match with Bret *is* as good as it's made out to be. Almost, if not, perfect. The Mankind match at Mind Games is breathtaking in it's excellence of simplicity. The Vader match is to date my favourite Vader match. And I am partial to the Beware of Dog match, even though Shawn himself isn't fond of it at all (he considers it his worst match!). So, I'm not going to complain about the matches on show here.
The problem is that they are, as already stated, highlights, and it doesn't give you more than a flavour of what's on offer. And if they're going to do a one disk introspective of HBK's career, then why the weird mix of a tag match, and TWO Psycho Sid matches? This could be a little better. As it is, it's a cheaper disk than some of HBK's other three-disk or two-disk offerings and if you're not a massive HBK fan, but want a flavour of his career (or because this is a cheaper DVD), well, the Iron Man highlights are worth entry alone. Unfortunately, for HBK fans, or those looking for a good, solid wrestling disk, there isn't anything here that isn't better represented on HBK's other disks. My suggestion? Save your money and get 'From the Vault' or 'My Journey' instead.
