UP THEIR WITH THE VERY BEST SURVIVOR SERIES EVENTS!
In the past decade the Survivor Series event has been home to some of the best events in history of the PPV(most notably 2002,2003,2004 and 2005) and i strongly believe this just might be the best of the best! Some highly anticapated matches occured on this event, none bigger than the final showdown between the Heavyweight Champion Batista, and his challenger the Undertaker, taking place in the most demonic structure in the history of sports entertainment, Hell in a Cell! Other notable big matches include Shawn Michaels challenging Randy Orton for the WWE Championship, and also the return of the traditional Survivor Series tag match.

Hell in a Cell Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Batista vs. Undertaker-This was a top notch match, yet even with its excellent execution, i was somewhat disapointed as after their tremendous series of matches throughout the year, this match never topped any of the PPV matches previously. Even so this was an excellent way to close the show, with one of the top matches of 2007. As with all their matches, this started at a car crash pace, with both men holding nothing back from the get-go. This match had all their usual signature moves, along with some brutal spots such as Batista pummelling Taker with the steps, and Taker nearly broke Batistas windpipe with a brutal chair assault with the assist of the steps. I loved the closing sequence of this match, with big move after big move, and after Taker hit a second Tombstone, i truly thought it was over. Then Edge, out of nowhere appeared to screw the Undertaker, starting a feud that would lead to a first true meeting at WM24. Great way to close this epic feud, and i loved JBL's commentating, talking like a representative for us fans who felt robbed of an epic by Edge's appearance. Classic match, even though the cell wasnt used too much, but these two closed arugably the best feud of their respective careers-9/10

WWE Championship Match
Randy Orton vs. Shawn Michaels-This just might be my personal favourite match of all time, this was truly the definition of wrestling. I have been debating for nearly 2years on what should be the true rating for this, and i think my final decision is very accurate. The story is that Orton DQ'ed himself during their Cyber Sunday match, and Vince told HBK he would get a rematch, if and only if he didnt use the most significant move in his arsenal;Sweet Chin Music. Orton would also lose the title if he got DQ'ed again. What it led to is one of the best straight wrestling matches of either mans career, and up their with the best of the year. It started off with great chain wrestling with HBK for a prolonged period of time working on Ortons arm, he would tease a Sweet Chin Music, and then he would take out Orton to the outside, hitting him with a perfectly executed springboard Moonsault. What i loved about this match is that without SCM, HBK had to resort the moves never before seen from him, and he decided to work a submission based match, using the crossface, ankle lock the figure four. I absolutely love submission holds being used at the right time as it builds suspense and drama, and thats what HBK did, using them out of nowhere, and almost making me believe he could take the title. I love how bout men teased breaking the stipulation, and after HBK's usual routine of a running forearm and an elbow drop, he instinctively tuned up the band for sweet chin music. When he realised he couldnt use it, Orton pounced on that split second of indecisiveness and hit a devastating RKO for the 3 in one of my favourite finishes to any match. This is one of the many highlights of both mens careers, and thats saying something(especially for HBK). Up their with the best of the year and gave Orton credibility as a Champion-9.5/10

Hornswoggle vs. The Great Khali-This truly is the biggest mis-match in wrestling history:the smallest man ever in WWE history against possibly the biggest after Giant Gonzalez and Andre the Giant. Even with this interesting prospect, i would be decieving you if i said it was a good match. Infact, it was very poor, very very poor. Finlay came in and interferred, saving his son. I will give it a 3 due to the rather interesting interaction and some entertaining moments-3/10

Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match
Triple H, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio & Kane vs. Umaga, Mr. Kennedy, MVP, Finlay & Big Daddy V- This match was coming in with a great build, and contained 9 of the hottest superstars through the year(yes even Big Daddy V, note Matt was injured so couldnt compete). Look out for the highly amusing pre match promo,Triple H and his team ridiculed each other for previous wrong doings. Nevertheless this match was filled with great wrestling, great spots, brawling, unpredictability and drama, key components these days to entertain us fans. The match started off with Kennedy and Rey putting on an entertaining pace setter with Rey showcasing his vast array of high risk moves, and Kennedy playing his cocky heel role perfectly. The first man eliminated was Kane by a powerful elbow drop from Big Daddy V, and next to follow him was Rey Mysterio who was taking out by some excellent moves from Umaga, whom i believe is one of the best bigmen in recent memory. Jeff would gain revenge for his brother whom was taken out by MVP with a twist of faith, eliminating him. Big Daddy V would be taken out by a double ddt from Jeff and HHH, and they would go on to take out both Umaga and Finlay for the victory. Great stuff, i didnt talk much about the in ring action, but you will love it, numerous great interactions, and this match would end the Umaga/HHH feud and build towards a great HHH/Jeff feud that would last nearly a year. Fabulous effort from every man involved, telling a solid story and putting on a dramatic traditional Survivor Series Match-8.5/10

World Tag Team Championship Match
Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch vs Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly-This was a good suprise. It was a good match and the team that deserves praise here is Cade and Murdoch, who consistently through 2007 put on some of the best tag team matches in years. And even with the green Cody Rhodes, and the quite boring Holly, they managed to pull them to a strong bout. It had all the virtues of your usual tag team match, but i loved the double team moves of Cade and Murdoch, which were quite innovative. Murdoch picked up the win with a modified styles clash on Cody Rhodes. Solid encounter that i am strongly fond of-7/10

10 Diva Tag Team Match-Strange this wasnt an elimination match. Look out for the amusing botched entrance from Melina, even her and her partners were amused. Anyways back to the match, it was really an organised spotfest and nothing else, with nearly all the Divas getting their 30seconds to showcase their signature moves. While it didnt do nothing much else beyond this, it was still a pleasant watch and i wasnt bored at any moment, something i cant always say for a Divas match so should be taking somewhat as a compliment. The stars here was not suprising, being the three best Divas at the time in Mickie James, Melina and Beth Phenix. Mickie gained the pin on Melina with the kiss of death and then the Mick Kick. Average if not unspectacular Divas match. I will pass this match-6/10

Triple Threat Match for the ECW Championship
CM Punk vs. John Morrison vs. The Miz- This was a fantastic spotfest if anything else. Often forgotten among the many great matches these three put between each other throughout the year, but this is truly head and shoulders above them all, and is one of the most exciting and unpredictable openers in the past 10 years. It rather predictably started off with the Miz and Morrison teaming up against the Champion and one of my favourite wrestlers, CM Punk, but as with all triple threats, team work disintergrates, and rather quickly, with CM Punk hitting a wonderfully hit flying crossbody onto Miz. From then on this match went on to be a back and forth spotfest, with all 3 men bringing out all the big guns, and the interaction between Miz and Morrison was highly entertaining and led to many in the Internet community(otherwise known as the IWC) drowling over a potential match up. Trust me when i say this, this match had numerous innovative and crazy spots that ive never seen before, and they crammed in all they could in 7minutes. CM Punk hit the GTS on Miz after he inadvertedly hit Morrison for the three. Tremendous effort from these 3 relatively new superstars, and it could be seen as the break out match for each of them, as only 2years later Punk would become a multiple MITB winner and 3 time World Champion, Morrison would gain his own DVD after winning numerous singles titles, and the Miz is slowly becoming one of the hottest superstars currently on RAW. Tremendous-8.5/10

As you can see this is a truly classic event, only stopped from being 5stars from a couple of downsides here and their. Some truly timeless encounters occured in this event, matches i absolutely loved, and matches that closed great feuds, started new ones and catipulted the careers of many. Only two extras in this DVD, with Jerichos anticapated return and the legends of RAW(Stone Cold, Foley, Taker) confronting Vinnie Mac. If you got 13.99(or 15.99 for the steel book like me) BY THIS AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN!
