This is a great DVD for any SmackDown or WWE fan but I don't feel it is anywhere near as good as it's Raw rival. Rather than follow in Raw's footsteps and present some of the most memorable and greatest matches and moments in SmackDown history, they decided to present it in a top 100 countdown style. Personally it didn't work for me but I can't say I was entertained when watching. I watched this DVD once and it sits in the cupboard where as the Raw DVD comes out at least once a month.

i was really excited when wwe announced this dvd, what a great opportunity, 3 discs of smackdowns greatest matches and segments, but unfortunately they blew it.yes folks this reviewer has little good to say about this dvd, everyhing from the selections to the format, stunt the potential of this dvd. wwe uses a countdown system from 100, sounds good yeah, well its not, too much is crammed across the 3 discs, most of which is out of place on a "best of" compilation anyway, the segments are shown as highlight packages and not in thier entirerity, are rushed and therefore leave little impression.out of the 100 slots only 20 of them are matches and few deserve thier inclusion, for instance there is more than one occasions of wwe stars dominating/ beating or both ,stars from other companies or in some cases from wwe, triple h v tazz, stone cold v rvd, the rock v dudleys in a handicap match no less, john cena v carlito, triple h v jeff hardy. more head scratching decions come from the inclusion of randy orton v hardcore holly and john cena v kurt angle, their inclusion seems based on the fact that they were orton and cenas debuts, and not to much else, this is a "best of" remember.changing the pace of the review the set DOES boast some choice matches, rey mysterio v eddie guerrero inside a steel cage was a worthy addition to their stellar series in 2005, an enjoyable 8 man encounter from october 2008 is a welcome addition, rey mysterio v matt hardy is good as is team angle v tajiri and eddie guerrero, kurt angle v undertaker from 2002 showcases crisp action but again thier matches on smackdown from 2003 and february 2006 were superior(these are not on the set by the way). kurt angle and brock lesnars iron man match, unfortunately, is only highlights, eddie guerrero pops up again in a superb no dq match v edge(september 2002) this rightfully makes the top ten, on the other hand i disagree with rock v triple h at number 3, while this is good, these two had many matches better than this and there are plenty of smackdown matches which are better also.
making up the numbers are segments/vignettes, ill highlight the best and most insulting.the spinner belt-no, boogeyman-no,heidenreich poetry uh uh ,billy and chuck wedding oh dear.why any promotion would think its a good idea to book one man to run through most of its roster is beyond me, the big shows return in september 2004 is neither impressive nor smart but it must be said, it was the expendable cruiserweights who were mostly booked as jobbers(your shocked im sure), eddie guerreros championship celebration and touching tribute show are rightfully here along with the halirious auction of kurt angles possesions. kurt angle himself provides many highlights, mostly on a comedy level, his version of shawn michaels music is dead funny, feel free to sing along at the end i know i did, also if i live to be a 100 years old i will never forget the segments involving stone cold, kurt angle and vince macmahon over the suumer of 2001, that mini cowboy hat, the chemistry here was awesome (ah good times). i must admit i found the stuff with al snow and steve blackman mildly ammusing and i will even give john cena credit, his raps during his early years were red hot, .i never tire of booker t and stone colds supermarket brawl, as degrading to booker as it is, the sight of stone cold throwing eggs and popping out of a fridge like the terminater with a bottle of milk is golden, most of the segments with the rock are electrifying, but then this man was, wasnt he, and who can forget some of the stuff between edge and vickie guerrero, i really dont have anything bad to say about edge the man owns wwe.to conclude i would start by saying, dont get me wrong here, theres some good material on display, but even the good stuff is rushed, it has to be because of the layout, a different aproach could have made this a must have dvd had wwe dumped the countdown system and included smackdowns elite matches and segments, as low as i rate this dvd it still provides a trip down memory lane, buy if you must, avoid if you can.
i really enjoyed this set, if you are a old school fan then grab this bad boy. full of the best from the rock, austin, angle, and the late great eddie, also has orton and cenas first matches, some genuine funny moments that you wont find any where else top dvd, buy buy buy
